Sloop is the Game Boy Advance emulator used on the Nintendo Classics for Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack members.
Overview
[edit | edit source]Game Boy Advance games were added to the service in February 2023 alongside Game Boy and Game Boy Color games available for the common tier.
Starting with version 3.0.0, the frontend now adopted the Nintendo Classics branding and many new features were added.
Sloop has been used in the stand-alone re-releases of Pokémon: FireRed Version and Pokémon: LeafGreen Version on Nintendo eShop, but as with previous Pokémon games re-released on Nintendo 3DS through Virtual Console, certain features were removed such as restore points (save states), rewind and online gameplay (support for Pokémon HOME was later added through updates).
