puNES mappers: new section
On another note, I'm not sure why there's such a huge emphasis on whether something is in libretro or not? I personally don't like how native ports just aren't even a thing anymore most of the time, because 'everyone is running the latest and greatest thing'... NintendulatorNRS and MAME emus are great alternatives for unlicensed and bootleg games (and VRT chipsets/VTxx etc)and also unlicensed mappers. MAME also has proper PC-10 emulation support so i think its logical to set these emus "somewhat recommended"; <br />

Ares status has been changed to "kinda recommended" by an anonymous user. Does this need to be reverted? I think it's kind of an important deal. FulguroBoy (talk) 02:01, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

<s>"Mappers"</s>, <s>"Netplay"</s> and <s>"Sprite Enhancement/Tile-swapping (HD Packs)"</s> columns for emulators section?
"A key difference between many emulators nowadays is how many mappers they support." What do you guys think?

Fceux is really updating everyday
So why is it still marked as a not recommended Emulator ?--
:It needs to be the best, compared to other emulators, for either general use or in compatibility to be recommended. In case it is, feel free to change it and remove the ones that it's better than from recommended -Jpx (talk) 12:59, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

Accuracy
Based on the latest test I did on almost every NES emulator known in the scene, puNES is now the Actual holder of that title (The most accurate emulator now), well done puNES, seriously.
I am willing to create a video of the test, I am not that good with Adobe Premiere Pro, wish me good luck !

Compatibility
-What's the compatibility column for ? licensed games only or according to mappers supported ? NES 2.0 ?Chipsum (talk) 20:41, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

+I think it's for "licensed games". Ahayri (talk) 11:05, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

-In this case we can use mappers as a source since most common emulators (Mesen, puNES, Fceux..) have 100% compatibility for licensed games mappers.Chipsum (talk) 20:41, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

+I agree. Ahayri (talk) 20:58, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

jgenesis and jgnes
jgenesis and jgnes
<div style="margin-left:20px">
jgenesis does basically contain jgnes, jgenesis hence the name is a multisystem emulator that emulates:
<br>
*Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.
*Sega CD/Mega CD.
*Sega Master System/Mark III Game Gear.
*Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)/Famicom
*Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)/Super Famicom
*Game Boy/Game Boy Color
<br>
But the dev stated in a comment that he may or may not be working on it seriously, since he didn't knew others are really started noticing and using it
<br>
Feel free to add it anyway.

Hello. Please change the target of the "Unlicensed" link in the puNES row to https://github.com/punesemu/puNES#electric_plug-supported-mappers . -- 172.70.34.113 03:13, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
