-Thanks to this page and History of emulation page, i think it's time to get rid of obsolete and old emulators from individual dedicated system pages (e.g. NESticle from Nintendo_Entertainment_System_emulators#Emulators page etc.) Ahayri (talk) 13:04, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

I agree as long as we preserve all the info from the original pages we can and add them to this page or History of emulation. and try to re-list all the removed emulators on one of these two pages.
As the current main major contributor i have used History of emulation to help me find emulators for *some* of these systems. We should try to preserve as much history as possible because some of these systems/emulators are so sparsely mentioned outside of this wiki. I have spent hours going through archived forum threads and websites to find info and downloads to these emulators.
To sum up my point we *should* remove the obsolete emulators *but* also mention them elsewhere for the sake of preservation. 108.162.245.63 19:18, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

Adding a list of outdated emulators for modern systems

Emulators like RockNES are no longer in the NES page due to it being outdated, should we possibly make a page titled "Legacy emulators" (as like before a better name should be used if there is idea for a name) to help preserve them?
Outdated emulators for Windows NT, Linux, etc. are sometimes taken off the emulator list pages so having a page dedicated to old emulators would help clean the system specific pages while also preserving the old emulators. (Emulators on Windows still recommends DarcNES, which hasn't been updated since 2001)
This would also allow a way for finding emulators for (such as old Windows XP machines) while not recommending very old emulators in pages such as Emulators on Windows.

Sites I'm currently using to find emulators

This is partially so i can remember all the sites I'm currently using, partly so other people can find emulators the way i am.
If you can find other resources to find older emulators please add it to the list.
arcadeathome emulator executable host, archive.org file searcher "discmaster.testfciles.com, STIFU emulator executable host, retrogames.com emulator news, EmuSphere emulator news (wayback machine), darkmazda emulator news (wayback machine), Patent Pending (emulator list).
