17, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
FCEUX still gets reccDolphin is an open-source ed based on debugging features. These things matter for homebrew. As for Nintendulator, not a damn clue. GameCubeGoi~Yaas~Dinn and (Wii emulatortalk which supports many extra features not present on the original consoles. Though early development was supported by a very active homebrew scene led by fail0verflow precursor Team Twiizers, proper emulation is still underway as of 2018 and improvements are still being made as Wii games continue to have issues.)
DolphinNote that Mesen, while it works on GNU/Linux, it's official websitepretty awful due to a ton of stuttering and lag during gameplay, dolphin-emu.org, also runs a blog even with monthly progress reports, tracking pull requests from contributors, and providing comprehensive and in-depth feature articlesVSync turned on. Another site that has been confused puNES should be recommended over it for the real one, dolphin-emulator.com, has no connection to the project GNU/Linux users (and only hosts builds going up to 4.0NEStopia UE for its libretro core).Syboxez (talk)
It is also available as a libretro core for RetroArch.== Some Issues ==

Widescreen
Dolphin has support for widescreen output and can override the aspect ratio of the original game. However, this is a hack that rarely works without issues. To get widescreen fully natively, try Swiss. This can even be run on a real GameCube/Wii if desired.
==Guides Pretty much no VC emulator is accurate, barring GBA on the 3DS since it uses hardware, and GBA on the Wii U is decent as well, due to being coded by a third party. == Adding ares == I've been adding ares entries to all the relevant emulator pages, but this one is protected. ares gives itself a 2/4 star ratings (in terms of how many titles are playable, not actual accuracy), so it certainly would not be a recommended emulator, but I think it's still worth adding. I recommend something like this gets added: {| class="wikitable" style="text-align:center;"! scope="col"|Name! scope="col"|Platform(s)! scope="col"|Latest Version! scope="col"|FDS! scope="col"|! scope="col"|! scope="col"|<abbr title="Free/Libre and Open-Source Software">FLOSS</abbr>! scope="col"|Active! scope="col"||-|ares|align=left|Windows|[Categoryhttps:Linux emulation software]//github.com/higan-emu/ares/releases/ aresVer]|||?||||} BlaBlaCra(talk) 21:07, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
