DamonPS2 is basically a pirated version of PCSX2 for Android. https://pcsx2.net/286-the-pcsx2-team-s-statement-regarding-the-damonps2-emulator.html --LilShootDawg (talk) 01:05, 21 July 2019 (EDT)

Here are some Chinese responses, they stated that DamonPS2 did not plagiarize, so PCSX2 failed to launch DMCA to DamonPS2 on Google Play Store.

Oops, didn't realize this was on the talk page. I've removed DamonPS2 from the page. PCSX2 did launch a DMCA claim through Google Play and they counter DMCA'd. As per DMCA guidelines their app was re-instated and the next step was left for PCSX2 and that would be to sue. PCSX2 doesn't take donations and has zero funds to do such thing. PCSX2 is left at the mercy of android users _not_ to use said app and instead support legitimate developers such as jpd002 (Play! emulator). Not to mention the reports of questionable actions performed by their app.

Can't say I'm overall thrilled about the re-adding of DamonPS2 however I appreciate the new description.

USB Plugin section needs rewrite

[edit source]

Because of dropping wx builds and new QT builds i think it needs to be replaced with newer information. Any volunteer? Ahayri (talk) 09:39 - 16.09.2026

QT Was a mistake.

How to handle NetherSX2 info?

[edit source]

An AetherSX2 patch was created of which they are calling NetherSX2 (https://archive.org/details/aetherpatch-full). Features attributed to the patch are:-

-Removed Advertisements (All files relating to adverts removed) -Reimplimented Frontend Support (Tested extensively with DaiJiSho and Launchbox) -Removed PS3 Bios check (PS2 bios from PS3 firmware support reimplemented) -Optional Emulator App Rename (Default is NetherSX2, can be adjusted to ‘AetherSX2’ or customized names with 1 termux command. Does not effect package names and frontends.)

AetherSX2 stolen code notice

[edit source]

The source linked in the comparisons section for AetherSX2 is a blog by the official PCSX2 website, which endorses the project and states that they were in contact with the developer and properly adhered to the licenses. Calling it stolen seems to me to be factually incorrect, and whether this notice is required in the first place is also questionable. Having a clear note in the comparisons section that the project is based on PCSX2 should be sufficient for users, and optionally we could also have a small [3] note in the license column for that. - 40608, 19/04/2026

Did you actually read the blog post? It's questionable to begin with, given that it was written by someone with no contributions to the project. The claim is that *IF* tahlreth, or stenzek, or whatever name he’s using this week, were to make certain changes, then it *COULD* become something else (««If these mentioned libraries are removed, the entire project would become purely LGPL licensed»»). But that rewrite never happened, and he never adhered to the more permissive license anyway - let alone the more restrictive license that should have applied once the rewrite failed to materialize. In short, the blog post rests on a premise that never came to pass, and therefore it carries no real weight or value. Until all of the source code is released, which, quite obviously, will never happen, the entire project remains nothing more than shamelessly stolen work, no different from DamonPS2 or DuckStation.

Peripheral that needs adding?

Seems some ps2 games support the i.mode adapter cable like the ps1 did

Some missing here like Thrustmaster Fighting Arena : https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/issues/4763#issuecomment-4180372696

No, this is just a DS2 in disguise. Everything that doesn't appear on a game cover is a generic controller in disguise.
