The standard Playstation 3 controller. It has a very good d-pad which is something that's hard to find nowadays. Very useful for emulating older consoles.

Previous DualShock controllers required a special adapter to work. However, the Dual Shock 3 can connect via USB to a PC without an adapter and only requires special software to work on a PC.
Windows
Use the new XInput Wrapper SCP. Do not use MotioninJoy if you can.
Linux
On Linux, QtSixA is available but xboxdrv, although it doesn't include a GUI, is a much more active project; use it if you run into problems.
Troubleshooting
The controller is detected but input doesn't work
Try the following steps:
- Close the emulator and stop/close the DS3 software you are using
- Disconnect your controller and wait for its LEDs to turn off or begin blinking slowly
- Connect it back and press the PS button
- Run the controller software
- Run the emulator
