N-Gage service (also referred to known as "N-Gage 2.0" or "N-Gage Next Generation") was a mobile gaming service (for Nokia. It wasn't device like [[N-Gage]]) from Nokia that was available for several Nokia phones running on Symbian OS S60v3 (S60v5 on N97).
==Emulators==
N-Gage 2.0 games are packaged differently than normal Symbian .sis/.sisx applications and have the extension ".n-gage" and can only run via the N-Gage 2.0 Launcher application. The game resources are protected by DRM. They cannot use any native Symbian APIs, instead they use a proprietary API from the N-Gage SDK. The N-Gage API is in fact an extension of the RGA API available in the Open C++ plug-in. Only select companies are allowed access to the N-Gage SDK. To gain access they first must be approved by Nokia and sign a NDA.

* When you first start the hacked version of Asphalt 3: Street Rules ™, the game crashes a lot of people after choosing whether to turn on the sound in the game. When you restart it, it may crash already at the stage of choosing the language of the game. We just start the game until you go through these two steps. After they have been successfully completed, in most cases the game will no longer crash on startup. Probably a little crooked hacking, that's why these departures.
* On N95 8GB (and possibly other models), after installing N-Gage, it will have 3 "phantom" games and an error reading the database after starting. This is due to the fact that after formatting from the Z: / drive, the file private / 20003B85 / gamepurchase.db is copied to the device's memory, which is responsible for the list of installed games. It has 3 games "installed": Asphalt 3, FIFA 08, Snakes Subsonic. And since after the format the games themselves are no longer in place, we get an error and 3 "phantoms". There are two options for solving this problem: 1) Delete file C: /private/20003B85/gamepurchase.db. Good if you haven't installed the games yet. Otherwise, you will have to reinstall everything anew.
2) Install these 3 games and the error will go away. Then these games can be deleted.
* After installing at least one N-Gage game on the memory card, the file E: \. Plau_mc.id will appear on it. This is a kind of checklist of all games installed on the N-Gage memory card. If you delete it, then the games installed on the memory card in N-Gage will become "gray" and when we try to start we will be asked if we really want to delete the game. So we don't touch him. If you have already removed it, then only reinstalling all the necessary games will help.
