There have been several versions of Yabause released, including a [https://github.com/libretro/yabause currently work-in-progress] core for [[RetroArch]]. There is also a Wii version, linked above; note that this is an unofficial release and support from the Yabause developers cannot be provided for it.

Yabause is not a very compatible emulator, even with despite the amount of development that has gone into it. It's sad, because compatibility not withstanding, this emulator Yabause has many advantages over [[SSF|SSF.]] If you use the OpenGL video driver, you games can render games be rendered in HDhigher resolutions, unlike SSF which can only render in the game's native resolution. It's is multi-platform and open-source, unlike SSF, which is closed-source and Windows-exclusive. SSF only lets you run games via mounted/burned disks, while Yabause lets you open ISO files as well as run burnt/mounted disks. The UI, despite not being perfect, is also better than SSF. Sadly, what What matters is compatibility, and SSF is far ahead in that regard. For the pure end-user that has access to the Windows OS, SSF Yabause is recommended for its features for the games that don't work it is compatible with Yabause. But due to the potential of Yabause and option Use SSF for high resolution graphics, it's recommended for games that are compatible with iteverything else.
