It's sad, because compatibility notwithstanding, this emulator has many things going for it over [[SSF.]] If you use the OpenGL video driver, you can render games in HD, unlike SSF which can only render in the game's native resolution. It's multi-platform and open-source, unlike SSF, which is closed-source and Windows-exclusive. SSF only lets you run games via mounted/burned disks, while Yabause lets you open an ISO file as well as run burnt/mounted disks. The UI, despite not being perfect, is also better than SSF. Sadly, what matters is compatibility, and SSF is leagues ahead in that regard. For the pure end-user that has access to the Windows OS, SSF is recommended. But due to the potential of Yabause, it's recommended to keep an eye on it. | |
