Even though the Skyline team has done good work at getting a variety of 3D games, including ''[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_Odyssey Super Mario Odyssey ingame]'', making lots of 3D games running to run with graphical output, and fixing the performance issues and bugs in games, many other titles are still ingame stuck with poor framerates and graphical glitches.

Skyline reached ingame on two Nintendo Switch games in January 2022 and has been improving massively sincethen.

Skyline was founded as "Lightswitch" in June 2019 by daCyuubi.<ref>[https://github.com/skyline-emu/skyline/commit/4cd6c574f062e723a47007d5dc97e67bcef080eb] daCyubbi's first commit.</ref><br>In May 2021, Skyline booted up several homebrew tests with graphical output.<ref>[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Tz8DmYxUvk] Skyline running Space Game NX, a homebrew game.</ref><br>Later, in January 2022, [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_Mania ''Sonic Mania ''] and [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celeste_(video_game) ''Celeste also ''] started booting in Skyline, albeit with low FPS and graphical glitches.<br>March 2022 saw the improvement of ''Celeste '' in terms of graphics, along with the emulator rendering the openings of ''Super Mario Odyssey'', the menu of [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Breath_of_the_Wild ''The Legend of Zelda BOTW: Breath of the Wild]'', and [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bastion_(video_game) ''Bastion ''] booting in gameingame./<br> In April 2022, more improvements to performance was were made, making ''Super Mario Odyssey '' run roughly 10x faster in the its openings <ref>[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSU7Itpm7Bs] Super Mario Odyssey running on a Snapdragon 710 from April 2022.</ref> and also having getting Unity games running.
