It's very customizable, and you don't have to configure it beforehand. All of the buttons are bound at startup.
Also, you can easily (and quite effortlessly) set up and use a DualShock 4 pad if you connect it wirelessly via an official bluetooth PlayStation Bluetooth USB dongle from Sony, without the need to install or use SCP/DS4Windows.
