The Atari JaguarLynx (AJ) was a fifth fourth-generation home video handheld game console produced released by Atari on November 23September 1, 1993 1989 and sold it retailed for USD. It had has a Motorola 68000 WDC 65SC02 CPU and 2 custom RISC CPUs. It has 2MB of RAM. Despite Notably, it was the intense marketing efforts by Atariworld's first handheld system that used a color LCD screen, as well as having fairly advanced graphics for the Jaguar time. Unlike contemporaneous machines, its architecture isbased upon a frame buffer and a scaling blitter, in fact, providing both 2d sprite and background scaling and hardware support for lines and filled triangles. Because it has no inherent concept of a 32tile map or any sprite-bit console specific hardware, the drawing budget is per frame rather than 64-bit, as a wholeper line; only one part there is no enforced limit in terms of its two CPUs were 64-bit. The system's convoluted architecture didn't help matters either, which led most developers to just use the 68000 for gameplay logic. The console would prove to be number of sprites or sprites per line other than that implied by the final home console release for Atari, before releasing plug-and-play versions amount of their older games. There was also a CD addon called the Atari Jaguar CD (AJ-CD)drawing that can be achieved within an acceptable frame rate.

Comparisons
;Phoenix:A newer closed-source emulator. More compatible than Virtual Jaguar. About 95% of Jaguar titles are compatible (full list available on website). No support for CD games yet. The PC version of the emulator is currently only available in Russian, but an English patch is available.
;Virtual Jaguar:An open-source emulator based on the original by the same name. It has excellent accuracy and performance but behind Phoenix. Use the link given as "git" on this page and choose the most current version from there.
;MAME:Preliminary support. Some games boot but the emulation is far from perfect.
;Project Tempest:Was the first ever working Atari Jaguar emulator. It emulates some games, but most have issues. As its name suggests it was primarily made for Tempest 2000, with other games as secondary goals. Project Tempest is the first and only(?) Jaguar emulator that supports Jaguar CD games, but only two are compatible; Primal Rage and Baldies (the latter has sound distortion though). It is also the only emulator apart from Phoenix that can play Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. It has not been updated since 2004.
;IrataJaguar: The Phoenix emulation project is released as separate emulators for Android, this is the Jaguar version. Identical compatibility to PC version according to the author. Requires fast 64-bit CPU 2GHz+ or better for full speed.
== Resources =Comparison===;Mednafen:Based upon Handy, but unlike other forked cores, its emulation only improves upon the original. Despite having the .lnx extension, No-Intro ROMs aren’t directly compatible with Mednafen nor Handy and must be converted with make_lnx, which is bundled with Handy.;Handy:Hasn't been updated since 2007. Only included here for reference.
