The Apple II line of computers is the line that put Apple on the map and is now one of Apple's most successful line of computers. It was released in June of 1977 and was disconunted in November of 1993.

Steve Wozniak wanted to make a computer that was, "...small, reliable, convenient to use and inexpensive". This was the first computer to use a cassette tape.
Apple ][ Plus
The Apple II but with improved graphics and additional ram.
Apple //e
Apple II "Enhanced" is the third iteration of the pc with many keyboard and ASCII improvements. One of the most popular from this branch.
Apple IIc
A more 'c'ompact version of the Apple II.
Apple //e Enhanced
An even further enhanced version of the Apple IIe boasting better compatibility with the newer Apple IIc and a newer, faster processing chip.
Apple //e Platinum
Mostly a more visually appealing version of IIe with cosmetic changes to the plastic shell, and some quality of life software features added as a default.
Apple IIgs
Upgraded 'g'raphics and 's'ound performance version.
Apple IIc Plus
An improved version of the compact IIc with greater storage capacity and processing speed.
