General information

[edit | edit source]

aPS3e is a PS3 emulator for Android which is largely based on RPCS3. However, unlike AndStation 3, aPS3e does not use any containers. Instead, it directly executes after being compiled into aarch64 instructions through LLVM. It requires BIOS/ROM files and has Bluetooth controller and savestates support.

Requirements:

  • OS Version: Android 10.0+
  • CPU: Octa-core 2.0GHz+ with aarch64 architecture
  • Graphics: Vulkan support (BC texture support is required; otherwise, rendering issues may occur)
  • RAM: 6GB (8GB Recommended)
  • Storage: 64MB Free Space
  • Root Access: Not Required

As of February 20th, 2025, due to the author's previous misunderstanding of the GPL agreement, the “source code paywall” has sparked huge controversy. The aPS3e GitHub page has been removed due to copyright disputes as aPS3e was found to be in violation of the GPLv2 licenses of both RPCS3 and Vita3K, however it was resolved and the emulator is now compliant.
