Overview

Kachikachi is built for Linux, running on the ARM CPU in the NES Classic Edition. It has 3 video option modes, Pixel Perfect (8:7 nearest neighbor), 4:3 (nearest neighbor), or a CRT filter (also 4:3). There are 4 save state slots, and the emulator has auto-save state/load state when going to and from the game launcher.

The emulator uses its own palette, different from the other VC emulators. It also has some sort of film grain noise filter[2].

It has been criticized for having incorrect MMC3 emulation[3], incorrect audio emulation[4], poor A/V sync[5], and noticeable input lag[6].

The emulator was also featured on Nintendo Switch, providing NES and Famicom Disk System emulation for Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition. An enhanced version of the emulator was featured on the system as part of Nintendo Classics.
