ePSXe is very outdated. Changing discs is very problematic and it can crash randomly. It is also not actively developed.
PCSX-R is very similar to ePSXe, and even uses many of the same plugins, butis much better and is updated regularly. XEBRA and Mednafen are also viable alternatives, but they are different. They do not use plugins, and are native resolution only.
