atari800 is an open-source Atari 400, 800, XL, XE, XEGS and Atari 5200 emulator.
The emulator is mostly written in C, and is very portable, including a very simplified version, atari800 has ported to several systems, including: Windows, Linux, macOS, Emulators on Android, Emulators on Android, DOS, Windows CE, Dreamcast, PS2 Amiga, Atari TT/Falcon, and has been tested on several versions of on Unix, and curses. The Android version is called Colleen.

Development
[edit | edit source]Atari800 was first developed by David Firth, in 1995, who released the source code under the GPLv2 license. It started with portability in mind and was ported to several systems.
After development of Atari800 stalled several people picked up development of version 0.8.0 independently. Later they started working together and created a team for Atari800's development.
