Development[edit]
Atari800 was first developed by David Firth, in 1995, who released the source code under the GPLv2 license. It started with portability in mind and was ported to several systems.
After development of Atari800 stalled several people picked up development of version 0.8.0 independently. Later they started working together and created a team for Atari800's development.
