BizHawk[edit]

It's not recommended here, as it's never been recommended in the thread. It's not portable, not that great of performance, written in C#, doesn't have comparable A/V sync to what RetroArch does, doesn't support as many systems, or offer the shader support. For just general use of playing games, or playing games as accurately as you can to the original console, there's better out there. For TASsing a game, yeah you'd be using it, as TASvideos recommends it.

To be mentioned[edit]

  • SIMH - almost 50 computers, mainframes, etc.
  • QEMU - emulates many platforms, besides x86, it already has a page
  • Charon - emulates PDP-11, VAX, AlphaServer, HP 3000, and SPARC
