==Real Controller w/ Adapter==
The best way to emulate a console is by using the actual controller for that console. Here are some different adapters that'll let you use your those controllers on your PC:
*[http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=bl_sr_videogames?_encoding=UTF8&field-brandtextbin=Mayflash&node=468642 Mayflash adapters] work well and are relatively cheap.
*[http://spawnlinux.dyndns.org/Bliss-Box/ Bliss-Box] is made to order and probably the best adapters you can buy, but they don't come cheap.
*[http://www.raphnet.net/electronique/snes_nes_usb/index_en.php RaphNet] for Nintendo controllers.
==Playstation DualShock 3==
Why dualshock the Dualshock over X360 the 360 or FX10series? Well for For one thing , it has the best D-pad out of the lot, but it also has: 10-bit precision analog sticks, all buttons are pressure sensitivebuttons, and it can be used wirelessly with just a bluetooth adapter. You can also emulate the 360 controller, so it can play PC games natively too.
Use the new [http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInput-Wrapper-for-DS3-and-Play-com-USB-Dual-DS2-Controller XInput Wrappers] or [http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInput-Wrapper-for-DS3-and-Play-com-USB-Dual-DS2-Controller?page=31 Bluetooth Beta].
*F710 is Wireless and has Rumble ($50)
If you're going down this road I'd suggest going with , the Logitech F310 as it's is the cheapest solution on this page at $25.
==Xbox 360==
The 360 controller does offer good ergonomics and many prefer it's analog stick layout over other controllers. However, it's the poor D-pad means it's somewhat lackluster when it comes to emulating older consoles. Recommended if you've already got a 360 controller. However, some Some don't like the dpad, and some think that the analog placement and "ergonomic" design are annoying.
Note: You will need a [http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2 wireless adapter] to use a wireless controller on a PC.
