[[Distro-agnostic_emulator_packages_for_Linux#Snappy|Snappy packages]] are currently the default method of installing software in Ubuntu, encouraged by Canonical - developers of Ubuntu. Installing snaps is very simple, just open Ubuntu Software app and find your desired emulator from there, confirming installation with your user (or root user) password.
