== Assumption of "Computers" category? Data Loss (2021-07-03) ==Yesterday on the 2nd the wiki's database got corrupted, and I was unable to restore it. Due to an issue with mySQL logging, the server's drive was also completely full so backups of the database weren't being made. Because of these issues I've had to roll the wiki back to the most recent offline backup I had, which unfortunately is 6 months old. So to everyone who made edits in the past 6 months, I'm very sorry, I've lost those contributions.
ThereI believe I've fixed the issue with mySQL, and will be checking the server's status and making offline backups more regularly, as well as using a list under a "Computers" category. Perhaps this is known, service to backup the server'''but all video game consoles are computerss instance in full.''' A 1978 calculator is a computer. The TVs that your parents watched when they were kids were computers--[[User:SonofUgly|SonofUgly]] (most likely[[User talk:SonofUgly|talk]]). I think this is kind of differentiating people's ideas of what "computer" means22:18, and is not a good way to describe "non-gaming purpose" computers.3 July 2021 (UTC)
This, I feel, further dumbs down the general populations' knowledge of technology by calling 'X' a computer, but then telling them their smartphone or such is a "phone, not a 'PC/computer!'" == TODO lists for each page? ==
Perhaps I should give some better replacements:think it'd be a good idea to add TODO lists to the talk pages of each console page. It'd help us keep track of things like which emulators need to be tested and added.
"Non-gaming computer emulators"Side note,is there a way we can test the accuracy of NES and FDS emulation? Like determine if accuracy is low, midrange, high, or cycle accurate? ~Charlie [[User:OrphanedPixel|OrphanedPixel]] ([[User talk:OrphanedPixel|talk]]) 20:05, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
Hello, on the Fightcade page, its title should be "Fightcade", not "Emulators for non-consolesFightCade",if it could be changed, thanks. -ludg1ehttps://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/FightCade
"Old system emulators", or== iOS and touchHLE ==
"Emulators for nonShould we get rid of iOS’s &amp;Dagger;? While it’s still in very early development, touchHLE is already able to run at least one commercial app and it looks very promising, but it’s still a far cry from what we usually would call mobile device emulation – it’s ''very'' high-game consoles"level, and it’s more of an iOS substitute that runs alongside a CPU emulator. The iOS itself isn’t even planned to be supported. I personally think that the ability to run apps should alone be grounds to consider the iOS emulated, but I can see how that could be controversial. [[User:Rariteh|rariteh]] ([[User talk:Rariteh|talk]]) 05:42, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
:What about "Personal Computers"? Most people think It’s been a week and nobody replied, so, considering that systems like the PS4 and Super A’Can don’t have it even though the current state of desktoptheir emulation is barely practical, multi-purpose computers when they hear thisI’ll take iOS’s off for now. --[[User:SwarhogRariteh|Swarhograriteh]] ([[User talk:SwarhogRariteh|talk]]) 1705:2022, 28 July 2014 13 February 2023 (EDTUTC)
:Seems pedantic. Sure consoles, calculators, phones, etc. are computers, but you place a phone, SNES, and personal computer/home computer/desktop PC/whatever next to each other and then ask someone to turn on the 'Computer', they're not gonna touch the phone or the SNES.<br>"Non-gaming computer emulators" - plenty of people gamed on their DOS computers. "Emulators == Mouse Injector page for non-consoles" - even 'console' is fairly ambiguous when talking about something like the MSX or Commodore. "Old system emulators" - a SNES is an old system. For example, left and right columns are huge problem to the large tables, these wide columns making the large tables feel even more cumbersome. Even the [[MainPageWIP]] page utilizes these large columns: https://imgur.com/a/ZnBH3PA [[User:Ahayri|Ahayri]] ([[User talk:Ahayri|talk]]) 17:39, 12 March 2024 (UTC) :::*The right column is fixable, the left one is part of mediawiki default design, I am a webdev I can solve that but <s>I don't know who is the webmaster</s> it's up to [[User:SonofUgly|@SonofUgly]]. As for the tables I am wrapping them between <code><nowiki><div style="overflow-x:auto"></nowiki></code>, this will make the table responsive on mobile (and also on any viewport) it will create an overflow if it overflow's the page's container and adds horizontal scrolling bars on PC and on mobile you swap left and right to scroll the table (without any change to the page).[[User:Chipsum|<span style="letter-spacing:.1em;color:#212121;text-shadow:5px 1px 0 #ffb650,10px 2px 0 #62ffc5,15px 3px 0 #ff80bf,20px 4px 0 #ef5097,25px 5px 0 #6868ac">'''Chipsum'''</span>]] [[User_talk:Chipsum|<span>'''(✉️)'''</span>]] 12:11, 13 March 2024 (UTC) == I propose this header colors and style == *So what do you say, I am thinking of removing the right td which contains the 4chan thread (and place it somewhere else) {| style="width:100%; background:#E0F7FA; margin-top: 0.6em; border:1px solid #00BCD4; border-collapse: collapse;"| style="width:100%; color:#000;" |<!-- "WELCOME TO EMUGEN" AND ARTICLE COUNT -->{| style="width: 100%; border:none; background:none;"| style="text-align:center; color:#03A9F4;" |<div style="font-size:2em; border:none; padding:.1em; color:#009688;">Welcome to the Emulation General Wiki</div><div style="top:+0.2em; font-size:1em;">The wiki dedicated to all things emulation.</div><div id="articlecount" style="width:100%; text-align:center; font-size:1em;">There are <span style="font-size:1.6em"><b><i>[[Special:Statistics|{{NUMBEROFARTICLES}}]]</i></b></span> articles already.
