Silhouette is an unofficial port of SNES96, an early version of Snes9x, released by an anonymous programmer at the start of 1998. An accompanying readme claimed the binary was a from-scratch implementation developed internally at Nintendo to allow easier testing and debugging of SNES games for first-party developers.
