Overview
Development of RPCS3 is early, but promising. It can play the intros to some games with the sound.[1] It can play some of Disgaea 3, but with heavily glitched graphics, and the sprites do not show.[2]
Even on a modern machine, it gets very low framerate. In Disgaea 3's menus it averages less than 3 frames per section.[2] Modern hardware is too slow to run a PS3 emulator. It also lacks a dynarec (Dynamic recompilation), instead relying entirely on an interpreter.
It will be a long time before it can play complex PS3 games that use the power of the cell for some time.
