;PPSSPP <small class="plainlinks" style="font-weight:normal;">(compatibility, AdHoc compatibility, AdHoc compatibility#2)</small>:Released in November of 2012. Compatibility is higher than JPCSP and games runs significantly faster. The emulator is currently capable of playing the vast majority of the PSP library, with 2991 (83%) out of 3615 reported titles can be played from start to finish and the remaining 3407 titles are unreported. Additionally, both the libretro core and standalone version of PPSSPP (as of v1.16's release) support the RetroAchievements service for players hunting video game achievements. The standalone version is highly recommended over the libretro core as the libretro core version can be slow/unstable, especially for mobile users.
;JPCSP:Requires the Java Runtime Environment to be installed. It is also slower compared to PPSSPP. JPCSP was built around debugging and was never really meant to be a standard emulator. They made it so they could understand the PSP's inner workings better. Thanks to the JPCSP team, and other PSP homebrew teams, PPSSPP developed at breakneck speeds. Both teams communicate a lot and contribute with each other.
