[[File:PS4.png|thumb|PlayStation 4]]The '''PlayStation 4''' is an eighth-generation console produced by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2013. Notably, it is the first PlayStation console to use the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86 x86 ] architecture, making it easier to program for than the [[Playstation 3 emulators|PlayStation 3]] while also having the same architecture as PCs.
==Emulators==
Note that while this console {{no current emulators}} Even though the PS4 does have the same architecture as an x86 CPU like normal PCs does NOT mean it will be easier to emulate, due to the complexity of the architecture. That said, however, it IS possible that doesn't mean it could 'll be easier easy to emulate than the PlayStation 3, as the x86 architecture instruction set is '''huge'''<ref>{{cite web | url= https://web.archive.org/web/20130517194502/http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=132032 | title= Why is very XBOX emulation premature?}}</ref>. However, nearly all of x86 instructions are well documented, compared to Cell (though some other specifics aren't) so the possibility is there. Another thing is that there is currently no documentation on the PS3 architectureGPU (a modified Radeon 7970M with disabled stream processors)used in the PS4's APU. While the console has been hacked, which is efforts are as of now preliminary and notto the point of being able to run backups or pirated games - please don't even ask about PoC emulators until it's hacked. Either wayAll that said, don't expect an emulator any functional PS4 emulators for a LONG very long time, like 10 years==References==<references/>
