No reason to give a ball park guess over how many years it will take before it's considered "useable". Even the active developers have no idea when it will be stagnant and supportive of bigger, more powerful games.

* [[RPCS3]] is at its very early stages, and it shows a lot of promise. It can boot quite a few commercial games right now, (albeit most of them run at <1FPS, have heavy glitches, and crash pretty early on) and even more games can boot their splash screens. The emulator is improving at a rapid pace - and if it keeps up, then pure end users could probably find use for it in about 4 years.
* Short Waves was made by an unknown developer. It's not known whether the emulator is active or not.
