Mugen (stylized as M.U.G.E.N) is a customizable 2D fighting game engine designed by Elecbyte. The engine allows for the creation and near-total customization of characters, stages, menus, music, and gameplay mechanics among other things. As a result, communities have formed to create ports of content from other fighting games as well as wholly original creations, ranging from individual characters to full standalone games.
