* Apparently, the author of this rare port goes by the name of Clownacy, and he maintains the code in [https://github.com/ekeeke/Genesis-Plus-GX/tree/master/sdl here] for "the purpose to show how to use the Genesis Plus GX core & interface in SDL in particular."

It is claimed that Genesis Plus GX can reach achieves 100% (not counting the unpatched version of [[wikipedia:GG Aleste 3|GG Aleste 3]] and other M2 encrypted games) compatibility with all commercial games released on the platforms it supports, all while being made primarily to run on Wii/Gamecube.
