It is rapidly progressing to a usable stateopen-source [[Nintendo 64 emulators|Nintendo 64 emulator]] for Windows, Linux and macOS that is already capable of playing some commercial ROMs with only minor issues. However, due to its extreme focus on accuracy, it will also require top-end hardware to play at decent speeds. The emulator does not have a UI yet, although there are already quite a few unofficial frontends availablestill in very early development.

The goal is to add additional full-0cycle accuracy.149 It was rapidly progressing to a usable state and is capable of playing many commercial ROMs with only minor issues. However, due to its extreme focus on accuracy, it will also require good hardware to play at decent speeds. It also lacks [[Dynamic recompilation|dynarec]].BIOSThe emulator does have sound processing but not a UI, although there are already quite a few good unofficial frontends available ([https://github.ROMscom/dh4/MESScen64-qt like CEN64-0Qt]).149 CEN64 is slightly unoptimized.BIOSHowever, there are reports of people being able to run the emulator at decent frame rates using at least an Intel i5 4670K, and the performance is getting slightly better with each release.ROMsMarathonMan is aiming for system requirements on the level of bsnes. Whether or not that's possible remains to be seen. ==External links==* [https://www.youtube.zipcom/user/gamspony/MESS%200videos gamax92's "If CEN64 ran at full speed" video series].149%20ROMs%2Fn64The CEN64-related videos are particularly interesting.zip pifromGamax92 dumped the frames of a select number of games and put the images together into movies to show what the games would look like if there weren't any performance issues.bin/pifdataNotice how many of the games shown are almost completely accurate to their console counterparts, save for a few hiccups.bin]

Disregard that, because their CEN64 videos are very interesting. Notice how many of the games shown are almost completely accurate to their console counterparts, save for a few hiccups. There are many parts of games shown that are notoriously difficult to emulate. There is a lot of potential shown in this emulator.
