}}The '''[[gametech:Atari 7800|Atari 7800]]''' was a console produced by [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari Atari] in May of 1986 and retailed for <abbr title="$324.02 in 2018 money">${{Inflation|USD|140</abbr> |1986}} with Atari SALLY 6502 at 1.19-1.79 MHz. It had 4KB of RAM and a display of 320x200. It attempted to directly compete with the [[Nintendo Entertainment System emulators|Nintendo Entertainment System]], but ultimately failed to do so. This was the first game console to be natively backwards compatible; in particular, with the [[Atari 2600 emulators|Atari 2600]].
