4DO is Panasonic 3DO Interactive Multiplayer Emulator for the Windows platform.

Opera (aka 4DO) is an open-source, low-level emulator for the 3DO game console games and a fork of 4DO - 3DO Emulator.

FourDO aka 4DO, the predecessor of Opera, was initially developed as a standalone 3DO emulator for Windows based on the opensourced code of the FreeDO - the first emulator for this console.

4DO libretro core for RetroArch was renamed to Opera to differentiate it from the PC emulator version.
