DCNet
- Main article: Early online services#Dreamcast Online services
DCNet is a fork of DreamPi and a free VPN service developed by flyinghead for integration with his emulator flycast, which functions as a DreamPi analogue but for the emulator instead of real hardware (can be used with some tinkering for real Dreamcast as well). It only requires basic Internet connection.
With DCNet, it's possible to organize a cross-play between players on flycast and players on real Dreamcast (though some issues like de-synching may potentially occur, so it's not recommended, it's better to organize gaming sessions for either purely Dreamcast users or purely flycast users).
Additionally, since 2.6 flycast also features match code server for Taisen Cable games to play them online.

DC Saturn Lobby is a hub for retro online gamers. It integrates with DCNow and Flycast/DCNet to show you who's playing what in real time, and adds a layer of community features on top. Anyone who plays Dreamcast or Saturn online — whether you're running games through a DreamPi, BBA, or Flycast. The app works alongside whatever setup you already use, it doesn't replace anything. Both DCNet and DCNow players are visible online.
