Yu Suzuki Game Works Vol. 1 (鈴木裕ゲームワークス Vol. 1) is a compilation of emulated Arcade games, published by Aspect for the Dreamcast in 2001, only on Japan. It features five games that were programmed by Yu Suzuki for Sega Arcade boards, otherwise known as Super Scaler games. It was sold alongside a book and was not available to purchase without it.

Despite the name, no other volumes of the compilation were made, giving that the book was sold when Sega already gave up on the Dreamcast and was already moved onto a third-party publisher.

Overview

[edit | edit source]

The compilation includes five Arcade emulated games. With the exception of Power Drift, all games were previously available in Shenmue and Shenmue II for the system, which means they do feature the same changes back then, such as the adverts in Hang-On and the Testarossa from OutRun.

Overall, the sound emulation is not the best, notably with Space Harrier, which managed to get two great ports for both the 32x and Saturn by Rutubo Games earlier. It also does support the Racing Controller (Race Controller outside Japan) for Hang-On, OutRun and Power Drift.
