Released by the EMPEG Company in 1999, The EMPEG Car is one of if not the first In-Car Computer that could play MP3 files. Only 400 of the original version (Mk.1) of the EMPEG Car were made and shipped to customers.

The Mk.2 was an updated of the original version, improving almost everything from hardware to firmware to the design of the device itself.[1]
