The main reason to use this over NTSC would be if some pirate game targeted PAL Famiclones, other than that there's hardly much difference to it than running in NTSC unless you're nostalgic for the unoptimised slowed-down versions from pirate multicarts.

It's unknown how many units were sold once the console was relaunched after the recall.
