If you have a PSVita/PSTV on firmware version 3.65 to 3.74, you can turn it into a decent emulation device by installing the HENkaku homebrew enabler. You can obtain it on the HENlo website, which doubles as a guide and an actual homebrew enabler. After it's installed, you can also use tools such as Vita Homebrew Browser to install homebrew directly on your PS Vita/PSTV.

Emulators via Adrenaline

Adrenaline is a software that modifies the official PSP Emulator using taiHEN CFW framework to make it run a PSP 6.61 custom firmware. Thanks to the power of taiHEN, Adrenaline can inject custom code into the IPL which allows unsigned code to run at boottime. You can use PSP Homebrew Browser to install homebrew to run through Adrenaline.

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 Overclocking CPU speed is necessary to achieve full speed or near full speed. Plugins that allow the user to control their PS Vita's CPU speed include LOLIcon, and LOLITA500, PSVshell, and PSVshellPlus (recommended). If overclocking is not enough to reach full speed (Bully Vita for example), use CapUnlocker to allow the system-reserved CPU core (CPU3) to be used in gaming apps but try not to game for too long with too much power or the system may overheat.
  2. No releases are available for the unofficial Vita port of Ship of Harkinian (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time port). Users can build a VPK by following these building instructions, however, Ship of Harkinian does not perform great and Ocarina of Time performs better in DaedalusX64.[1] Video demonstrations on how Ship of Harkinian performs on Android: Teaser video.   3. Nazi Zombies: Portable has built-in achievements. Additional achievements are still planned/work-in-progress and when all planned achievements are finished, trophy versions will also be implimented.[2]
  4. 4.0 4.1 There are several ways to play AMR2 on PS Vita but each way will have their own issues.
    • Greaterchimera's port: Based on v1.4.1 of AM2R, this is the least recommendable version as it contains some gamebreaking bugs, hardlocking the player from completing the game, such the game crashing at the Serris fight after acquiring the Ice Beam. Other issues will be listed in tijesef's port.
    • tijesef's port: Based on v1.4.3 of AM2R with some fixes/additions from v1.5, this unofficial port fixes some issues presented in Greaterchimera's port, making this port completable, and is available in standard-quality and high-quality audio versions. As of v1.4.5.1, this port is played at 400 MHz, which plays at near full speed without needing to overclock, as well as adding an FPS counter when pressing Select at the "A CONTROLLER IS RECOMMENDED" splash screen. However, some issues remain such as occasional game crashes while Speed Boosting or Morph Ball rolling between certain rooms (not always but commonly occurs in late game areas), as well as some minor issues such as jump sound effect looping that also rarely occurs, so it is recommended to save often just in case if the game crashes, but everything is still acquirable and completable. Not all control features are mappable in these two ports but Aim Lock and a standalone Morph button are not necessarily needed.
    • Android port in YoYo Loader Vita: The latest official Android version of AM2R (which has 16:9 widescreen support) can be used in YoYo Loader Vita and is controllable in Windows platform mode without a keys.ini file (as well as accessing L2/R2 and L3/R3 back touch controls to map all control features to the player's liking). Playing AM2R in Yoyo Loader has some issues as well such as background audio disappearing when opening AM2R from sleep mode or returning to the game until reaching another area, or frame drops in certain areas/rooms (especially in widescreen mode) so overclocking is recommended. For best performance, play the game in 4:3 aspect ratio while overclocking at 500 MHz. While saving new Display settings does crash YoYo Loader Vita, changes are still made successfully.
  5. 5.0 5.1 SDL Prince of Persia Vita is more recommendable with additional features including mod support, cheats, graphic enhancements, save states, and more. Cpasjuste's port plays fine but pressing Start or Select quits the game immediately and takes longer to boot up, having additional splash screens before the game.
  6. Gameplay performance for Sonic Mania Vita is normal in regular stages without the need to overclock. However, frames drop immensely during certain special stages, especially in giant ring special stages when too many objects appear on the screen. No Special Stage Decorations and No Special Stage Decorations PLUS mods (if enabling Plus DLC and playing Plus' extra special stages) are recommended to increase performance during giant ring special stages. Overclocking and using No Special Stage Decorations mods increases performance to nearly full speed. Overclocking also brings the Blue Sphere special stage to full speed. (Tip: If Blue Sphere special stages get too fast and too difficult, the player can underclock to make Blue Sphere special stages easier.)
  7. The PS Vita can also play the PSP version of Final Fantasy III (3D Remake) via Adrenaline. PSP version (released after the Android version) can change between the Famicom and the improved 3D Remake soundtrack. The Android-to-Vita port has both gamepad and touchscreen controls, has high-resolution textures, and graphics are also adjustable (internal resolution, anti-alias levels, bilinear filter, PostFX effects), but the PSP version's graphics can be improved with GePatch for Adrenaline v7.
  8. Bully Vita does drop below 30 fps and has long load times even when overclocking (still recommended though, along with CapUnlocker to use the 4th core to increase performance) and reducing the clarity in the game's settings, but it is still somewhat playable. Be sure to save often as the Bully: Anniversary Edition does not free data of unused textures, which will cause the game to crash when RAM usage maxes after playing for a long session. This makes the final mission nearly impossible to complete.
  9. 9.0 9.1 9.2 Overclocking is not necessary for the Grand Theft Auto ports if using default settings for the most part but is recommended when increasing graphical features and enhancements for them. If a game crashes on boot or when starting a new game/loading save file, try uninstalling and reinstalling the port and the game files, and ensure they are the correct versions. If loading the save file still doesn't work, the save file may be corrupted or incompatible.
  10. 10.0 10.1 Take Two sued the original source port creators of the Grand Theft Auto ports ReVC and Re3 in September 2021 and issued DMCA takedowns on forks.[3]
