Vandalism on "IBM PC/XT emulators"

Hey, can you lock that page? MoochMcgee has been shitting it up by removing the PCem recommendation and shilling for 86box(WHICH HE IS A DEVELOPER FOR!). I removed his vandalism, but 189.69.137.140 keeps reverting my changes. Latest unvandalized version: http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php?title=IBM_PC/XT_emulators&oldid=14571

Spam surge from Indian cold-callers

I know it's fairly obvious, but would you mind doing a database purge of these bastards? Blakegripling ph (talk) 10:52, 4 September 2017 (EDT)

Also, it would be prudent to either change the CAPTCHA scheme or add a more robust IP blacklist as countless wikis have been mercilessly inundated by this cold-caller faux customer support shit. Blakegripling ph (talk) 04:34, 5 September 2017 (EDT)
ITEM-3 owns and runs the servers not me, but I've sent him a email asking to change our verification captcha, so it'll hopefully be fixed soon. --SonofUgly (talk) 10:44, 6 September 2017 (EDT)
He should add an IP blacklist as well, and DeletePagesPermanently to purge database traces of the pages in question rather than merely flag them as deleted. And if you ask me, merging all them spambots to a reserve, throwaway account should be in order. Blakegripling ph (talk) 17:47, 6 September 2017 (EDT)

Redirect 'Need Games?' to 'ROM/ISO sites'

That way there should be less bitching in the thread about it, if you agree though you need to lock the page as there's this faggot who's just gonna remove the redirection out of his personal vendetta against the Reddit boogeyman.

Boo-hoo, "I need an adult" much? That page was removed as part of a conseus between regular collaborators here since it was being hotlinked elsewhere, from sheltered ignoramuses who don't even care about the wiki to look up its front page, and since it was a lightning rod for everything hotlinked there that many people here took great pains to upload only for it to be served on a plate of gold for your lazy ass and Sony lawyers. Even Playstation sets were taken down which is a first.
The only bitching about this was on external sites, not for anyone here who can read. We're all good here. The only reason you want to restore that link which is not referenced anymore in this wiki but updated to the newer page, is that you want a link within some external site post leeching off here fixed. We ain't compiling links just for your shitty reddit karma. Make your own pastebin and link to it, leech.
Since it's request time, I suggest this page's history be removed, and if possible for the page itself to be deleted. Dipswitch (talk) 10:32, 6 February 2018 (EST)
So you're just gonna pretend that nobody ever comes to the thread to ask what happened to the old page? I proposed my suggestion so that we get less of these shitposts, yours are entirely based on paranoia.
The page and the links we upload (some of it is fucking hard to find) and add to it still remaining online is a concern that trumps the convenience of dumbasses who can't browse a wiki to a page literally two clicks away, or the convenience of those who bend their asses backwards to cater to them... if that demographic isn't made up to begin with. They can get fucked for all I care. I checked the thread just now btw and it was just one poster (you?) bitching about it. The takedowns on the other hand were a pattern, and were very real.
Also I know you just came from reddit or whatever other shithole but can you at least have the decency to sign your posts? It's confusing otherwise. Dipswitch (talk) 11:17, 6 February 2018 (EST)
The point is moot anyways. r/Piracy updated their link to the newer page "ROM/ISO Sites". Is there a way to implement a protection against hotlinking on mediawiki? Dipswitch (talk) 11:25, 6 February 2018 (EST)
It's common practice to turn the old page into a redirection when moving a wiki page you ignorant jackass, also warez get taken down because they're illegal, not because they're listed on some obscure wiki. If you're really concerned about the links getting taken down you'd suggest that they be deleted completely from this site and move them into some something password-protected instead. Whether you admit it or not, you're opposed to my suggestion because I called you out on your ignorance so now you're trying to get your petty revenge on me. By the way, I brought this up here because I know you're petty enough to resort into an edit-war otherwise.
I think it's been long enough, no point keeping the old page around anymore. --SonofUgly (talk) 17:10, 31 October 2018 (EDT)

Can you do something...

...about 176.88.20.222 (talk) he keeps creating useless redirects and putting an emulator called Orbital, which can't play games, on the PS4 page. He won't listen and doesn't make any sense once he responds. Also --176.88.20.49 (talk) tried to, probably, scam people with a "working" Xbox One "emulator" that 28 games are playable and a "perfect" 3ds "emulator" called 3ds-emu. My archive of the talk page. --LilShootDawg (talk) 10:42, 31 October 2018 (EDT)

Orbital is legit and worth mentioning on the page. And it seems he's fixing redirects more than adding them, its' fine.
If someone spams links or repeatedly adds fake emulators it'll be dealt with. --SonofUgly (talk) 17:10, 31 October 2018 (EDT)
