I actually believe [http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Special:Contributions/YusufT19 YusufT19] is the same user behind all of these non-stop edits. Though, it'd not be unfeasible to assume that he may have some friends doing similar things and that he's bragging to them about how he's 'lording' over the rest of the local wiki community here. He's very pushy. Though, another possibility arises that he may have been visiting different places like shops or friends' houses where he gets to use an available computer with a different IP address. When will you realise that he's being a persistent troll and dick? Just needs to stop using all those addresses... Though, he has made some legitimate commits, but many others are outright unnecessary or 'damaging' to pages here. I wonder if you'll finally exterminate his presence out of this wiki forever? This has been going on for too long. Come on, I'm so tired of this shit - correcting stupid errors & page damages. WAY too many dumb and vandalizing errors still ongoing from JUST ONE PERSON!!! Just ban him for good!

Vandalism on "IBM PC/XT emulators"

Hey, can you lock that page? MoochMcgee has been shitting it up by removing the PCem recommendation and shilling for 86box(WHICH HE IS A DEVELOPER FOR!). I removed his vandalism, but 189.69.137.140 keeps reverting my changes. Latest unvandalized version: http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php?title=IBM_PC/XT_emulators&oldid=14571

Spam surge from Indian cold-callers

I know it's fairly obvious, but would you mind doing a database purge of these bastards? Blakegripling ph (talk) 10:52, 4 September 2017 (EDT)

Also, it would be prudent to either change the CAPTCHA scheme or add a more robust IP blacklist as countless wikis have been mercilessly inundated by this cold-caller faux customer support shit. Blakegripling ph (talk) 04:34, 5 September 2017 (EDT)
ITEM-3 owns and runs the servers not me, but I've sent him a email asking to change our verification captcha, so it'll hopefully be fixed soon. --SonofUgly (talk) 10:44, 6 September 2017 (EDT)
He should add an IP blacklist as well, and DeletePagesPermanently to purge database traces of the pages in question rather than merely flag them as deleted. And if you ask me, merging all them spambots to a reserve, throwaway account should be in order. Blakegripling ph (talk) 17:47, 6 September 2017 (EDT)

Redirect 'Need Games?' to 'ROM/ISO sites'

That way there should be less bitching in the thread about it, if you agree though you need to lock the page as there's this faggot who's just gonna remove the redirection out of his personal vendetta against the Reddit boogeyman.

Boo-hoo, "I need an adult" much? That page was removed as part of a conseus between regular collaborators here since it was being hotlinked elsewhere, from sheltered ignoramuses who don't even care about the wiki to look up its front page, and since it was a lightning rod for everything hotlinked there that many people here took great pains to upload only for it to be served on a plate of gold for your lazy ass and Sony lawyers. Even Playstation sets were taken down which is a first.
The only bitching about this was on external sites, not for anyone here who can read. We're all good here. The only reason you want to restore that link which is not referenced anymore in this wiki but updated to the newer page, is that you want a link within some external site post leeching off here fixed. We ain't compiling links just for your shitty reddit karma. Make your own pastebin and link to it, leech.
Since it's request time, I suggest this page's history be removed, and if possible for the page itself to be deleted. Dipswitch (talk) 10:32, 6 February 2018 (EST)
So you're just gonna pretend that nobody ever comes to the thread to ask what happened to the old page? I proposed my suggestion so that we get less of these shitposts, yours are entirely based on paranoia.
The page and the links we upload (some of it is fucking hard to find) and add to it still remaining online is a concern that trumps the convenience of dumbasses who can't browse a wiki to a page literally two clicks away, or the convenience of those who bend their asses backwards to cater to them... if that demographic isn't made up to begin with. They can get fucked for all I care. I checked the thread just now btw and it was just one poster (you?) bitching about it. The takedowns on the other hand were a pattern, and were very real.
Also I know you just came from reddit or whatever other shithole but can you at least have the decency to sign your posts? It's confusing otherwise. Dipswitch (talk) 11:17, 6 February 2018 (EST)
The point is moot anyways. r/Piracy updated their link to the newer page "ROM/ISO Sites". Is there a way to implement a protection against hotlinking on mediawiki? Dipswitch (talk) 11:25, 6 February 2018 (EST)
It's common practice to turn the old page into a redirection when moving a wiki page you ignorant jackass, also warez get taken down because they're illegal, not because they're listed on some obscure wiki. If you're really concerned about the links getting taken down you'd suggest that they be deleted completely from this site and move them into some something password-protected instead. Whether you admit it or not, you're opposed to my suggestion because I called you out on your ignorance so now you're trying to get your petty revenge on me. By the way, I brought this up here because I know you're petty enough to resort into an edit-war otherwise.
I think it's been long enough, no point keeping the old page around anymore. --SonofUgly (talk) 17:10, 31 October 2018 (EDT)

Can you do something...

AKA "The Great Wiki Editing Crisis of Q4 2018 and Onwards" (Or how to deal with simpletons who SHOULD NOT be editing here!)

...about 176.88.20.222 (talk) he keeps creating useless redirects and putting an emulator called Orbital, which can't play games, on the PS4 page. He won't listen and doesn't make any sense once he responds. Also --176.88.20.49 (talk) tried to, probably, scam people with a "working" Xbox One "emulator" that 28 games are playable and a "perfect" 3ds "emulator" called 3ds-emu. My archive of the talk page. --LilShootDawg (talk) 10:42, 31 October 2018 (EDT)

Orbital is legit and worth mentioning on the page. And it seems he's fixing redirects more than adding them, its' fine.
If someone spams links or repeatedly adds fake emulators it'll be dealt with. --SonofUgly (talk) 17:10, 31 October 2018 (EDT)

Also similar issues with another person (Or is it the same person?) with a different IP address. Also his activities and patterns of behaviour seem rather similar to those of a similar IP address from early this month of Nov 2018, just with a different subnet at the end (212.252.97.163). Fun fact: all 4 of these IP addresses (Two starting with 176 and couple starting with 212) originate from one single nation...

He seems to continually be making all the ruckus and forcing many other users (with their own created user accounts) to correct so many tiny and silly edits being made on an almost daily basis by him. He also rather has a penchant for just making new 'one-tiny-line pages', which in turn forces the bulk load of work to fix up onto other users. I also notice that he seems to be addicted to checking EVERY page that's either available on this wiki or what the other people have been doing recently and then putting in seemingly unnecessary or tedious changes. It's become annoying. I think he's got an intellectual disability as he has a very poor understanding of English and never seems to research anything OUTSIDE of this wiki's site. You only need to see the main recent changes page to see an abundance of proof.

Also, one regular user, who's been tirelessly trying to correct all of these silly changes (including the stupid wiping of various platform brands on many pages' infoboxes to be turned into the generic term 'multi-platform'), has been making similar corrections to many fraudulent changes from some other unusual IP address sources. Upon checking, I've found that they also do come from the same nation as the other IPs above. I believe it is the same person who has the ability to use a VPN software to change to several proxy addresses from within the same country. Such trolling (even if it's unintentional, but the fact that this has been going on for WAY too long) is extremely tiring for all of the rest of us and, IMO, is making this wiki look bad compared to many other wiki sites. Previous IP addresses blocked by Bot:

http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Special:Contributions/212.252.97.52

Regular Diablo's pawns stomping tally: 37/44 IP addresses blocked (84.09%).

I actually believe YusufT19 is the same user behind all of these non-stop edits. --ObiKKa (26 November 2018).

He literally just blanked the main talk page. Ban him please? --LilShootDawg (talk) 13:08, 2 December 2018 (EST)
Totally agreed. I was incensed when he reverted MY reverts of his fraudulent edits of the higan & bsnes branches' version numberings at the SNES page twice. So I waited and LilShootDawg fixed it again. Days later, he STILL removed my reinsertion of the proper text flow in the bigger description field at Supermodel's page stating that the emulator was written in C++ and blah, blah. Just look at the view history page.
I'm just so sick of seeing the main recent changes page be almost completely filled out by many stupid and damaging edits from the one retard. Everything I said above, as well as the notes I put in some of his talk pages, are exactly accurate. It's VERY HARD for us to keep up with his crazy 16-24hr/day watch & hundreds of edits (I just wanna focus on improvements & content creation, come on, not waste time fruitlessly looking at his dumb edits). WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! Are you missing? Hope you're well. We ALL want him GONE, KAPUT! ObiKKa (talk) 09:40, 3 December 2018 (EST)

Thanks

Thanks for locking the PS4 page. I was sick of fighting that battle of keeping Orbital listed. Not sure what LilShootDawg's problem was. I identified the most recent vandalizer (167.60.28.117) as a troll lurking on the Orbital discord server. Is it possible to just IP ban him outright? --Michael

I saw SOU's statement about when yuzu (or another switch emu) was booting but not playing games. --LilShootDawg (talk) 13:18, 1 November 2018 (EDT)
Just use simple common sense next time, mate. When several other pages aren't following this statement, it should be obvious that it's not a real rule. --Michael
I thought they booted at least a game and it showed graphics. --LilShootDawg (talk) 14:28, 1 November 2018 (EDT)
