Codename Fission is an official Xbox 360 emulator made by Microsoft to allow for "backwards compatibility" on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Overview

Its development was announced sometime around 2015. Mostly supports 360 games but also supports some original Xbox games as of recent.

Backwards compatible games can be purchased through the Microsoft store or inserted via the disc tray. Physical media inserted into the Xbox one will prompt a download of a repackaged version of the game to fit the Xbox One format.
