Review

ePSXe is very outdated. Changing discs can be very problematic and it may crash randomly. There is little to no proper CUE support, which is required for many games (such as Brave Fencer Musashi, Tomb Raider, and The Misadventures of Tron Bon). It is also not actively developed and closed source. Really not recommended in recent times here.

PCSX-R is very similar to ePSXe, and even uses many of the same plugins, but is much better and is updated regularly.

XEBRA and Mednafen are also viable alternatives, but they are different. They do not use plugins, and are native resolution only.
