The standard Playstation 3 controller.

Features

  • It has a very good d-pad, which is something that's hard to find nowadays. Very useful for older consoles.
  • 10-bit precision analog sticks, pressure sensitive buttons
  • wired or wirelessly with a Bluetooth adapter.

Using on a PC

Previous Dualshock controllers required a special adapter to work. However, the Dual Shock 3 can connect via usb to a pc without an adaptor and only requires special software to work on a pc. In Windows, an external program needs to be installed to use DS3 controllers.

Windows

Use the new XInput Wrapper SCP. Do not use MotioninJoy if you can.

Linux

On Linux, QtSixA is available.
