- Would it make sense to copy the improvements section to the Wii page? Unless there are some differences, in which case they would have to be adjusted. -Aigoao2

+ Absolutely, go for it buddy. Ahayri (talk) 18:53, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

- Could be Mesen2 be considerd the best nes emulator since it has more enhancements and it's better accuracy?

+ I'm not sure. When it comes to NES emulation "A key difference between many NES emulators nowadays is how many mappers they support" which is crucial for compatibility, but yeah i think "Mesen2" is one of the best right now. Ahayri (talk) 11:12, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

- Do have experience with the usability of Mesen2 and FCEUX? I would also consider that important. I don't know if there is documentation on how many mappers are supported in these 2 so I might have to take a look at that.

+ Just a little bit. Well good luck with that, here some useful pages for mapper support;
Mesen2
FCEUmm
FCEUX changelog

I like your ranking[edit]

- FCEUX down, puNES up, But according to the latest tests I did on both puNES and Mesen2, including accuracy tests, nmi, almost all the tests listed on nesdev, plus tested NES 2.0 boolegs and multicarts, baddumpd, educational, homebrew tests and Maintenance tests, puNES scored the most, Outperformed Mesen2. Meanwhile I don't know if we should include debugging tools as a measurement for the best Emulator, since Mesen2 or Even Mesen1 easily surpasses puNES in terms of tools and debugging and scripting. a very hard choice, but in my neutral point of view, I think puNES is slightly winner in terms of mappers support and accuracy. and you ? what do you think :D

+ Well i'm not sure, both of them are best in their categories. It's your call, go for it. :) Ahayri (talk) 10:25, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Consistent capitalization[edit]

- Consider changing your new column texts to capitalize only the first letter, e.g., change 'Hardware Features and Peripherals' to 'Hardware features and peripherals.'" -Jpx (talk) 06:36, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

+ Got it, thanks. Ahayri (talk) 10:25, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Regarding MSG Series on the "Notable Ports" section[edit]

- Would the MSG Master Collection with patches like the MGSResolutionPatch be a better experience for the PC? the series uses a lot of console stuff that might not translate well on emulators (like Pycho Mantis Fight).

+ I'm not a huge fan of the series but I personally think "Master Collection" still not the best way to play the MGS series. Ahayri (talk) 15:00, 29 November 2023 (UTC)

regarding addition to "Display" page[edit]

- Do you think the INNOCN 15.6" OLED monitor would be a good addition to the display page? For an OLED at this price, it seems like a very good deal.

+ Thanks for your suggestion. Adding that monitor to the display page is an interesting idea. At that price point, it does seem like a potentially exciting option for users looking for an OLED portable display. However, there aren't many in-depth reviews available for that display. Without more comprehensive evaluations, it's difficult to compare to other options. Therefore, before adding it to the display page, it might be helpful to wait for reviews from RTINGS or other trusted sources. Ahayri (talk) 10:23, 23 February 2024 (UTC)

Enhancements table[edit]

Hey, sorry about cutting down your enhancement table, it was a bit shortsighted of me. I only considered the entries as they applied to the currently existing XO on XSX compatibility mode.Phredreeke (talk) 22:49, 12 March 2024 (UTC)

+ It's okay brother, I understand that some of the tables might seem a bit unnecessary at first glance. However, I believe they're valuable for raising awareness that there are many ways to enhance the experience beyond just increasing internal resolution or using widescreen hacks. Reshade depth buffer[edit]

-Hey, I just noticed that the video for the Reshade depth buffer fix is no longer available. Is there other to coney the info?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMceMD9OzIE

+ Oh snap, well this one seems more "get-to-the-point" anyway: https://youtu.be/6C_NuhBVdXc + It's not intended for tutorial purposes, as you might be aware but this one is my version: https://youtu.be/snBg45ES-II Ahayri (talk) 10:32, 15 March 2024 (UTC)

adding older emulator news to the wiki[edit]

Since the wiki has a History of emulation and Emulators on Legacy systems pages should we use {{News}} or a similar template for old news. Retrogames has emulator news going back to 1998.

Since we have these pages preserving emulation history shouldn't we also preserve the old news too? 108.162.245.62 21:21, 21 March 2024 (UTC)

+ Well, that's a fantastic idea, but unfortunately, I'm swamped right now and wouldn't be able to give it the attention it needs. :/ Ahayri (talk) 22:00, 21 March 2024 (UTC)

iOS and Android emulators[edit]

May you please move the old, bloated, or malicious Android/iOS emulator section to a sub-page instead of linking to an old version of the page please, just including the removed emulators in an infobox and a description on the emulator and why not to use it? For Android specifically, Android x86 and everything else like it can be it's own infobox on that sub-page.

Again, may you please move the old, unfinished, bloated, and/or malicious Android/iOS emulator section to a sub-page instead of linking to an old version of the page please, just including the removed emulators in an infobox and a description on the emulator, details about it, and why not to use it.

+ Done.[1][2] Ahayri (talk) 16:29, 1 June 2024 (UTC)

++ The pages are now cluttered, but if that is the goal of the Emulation wiki to have it like that, keep it that way, but if you want the pages to be clean and simple, I suggest to move the old emulators to a subpage of the page.

Outdated emulators[edit]

I am not a regular editor here so asking one (you) to see if it is a good idea.

I am thinking of maybe moving the considerably outdated emulators from console page to a page called "Outdated emulators" (with sections for each console)
Note: this is for maintained operating systems, legacy systems would still be in the Emulators on Legacy systems page.

I am also thinking of moving the outdated emulators for Windows XP, Windows 7, etc. To Emulators on Legacy systems (Under a section called Windows 7, XP, etc.)

I'll start creating these pages if you believe it is a good idea - 172.69.22.162 23:12, 15 May 2024 (UTC).

+ If you're asking my opinion, I'd say go for it brother. Ahayri (talk) 11:13, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

References[edit]

I noticed that the Enhancements sections of several pages use links ([https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IlqfrJwKr4] like this) as references instead of wrapping them with <ref></ref> (<ref>[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IlqfrJwKr4 Playing Metroid Prime in Dolphin 5.0 With RTGI Reshade + HD Texture Pack | DRPIELZ]</ref>, it makes it hard to find references that when it isn't properly referenced, as the main person editing the section can you fix that? 108.162.245.85

Android emulators[edit]

Hello, can you unlock the Android emulators page, I would like to add a lot of emulators to the list, but mainly https://gitlab.com/android_translation_layer/android_translation_layer , a better solution for Linux.
